Title: Master Data Manager
Duration: 6 Months w/ Potential for Extension
Location: Oakbrook Terrace, IL
Details: Hybrid (3 Days Onsite)
Compensation: $60.00/ HR W2
Responsibilities:
This is a supervisory position with 1 direct report, and will ensure the quality and accuracy of the data within systems by:
• Creating processes and procedures so that those responsible for data entry have the tools to enter data into the system correctly the first time.
• Monitoring the maintenance of existing data to ensure that it is accurate and current.
• Developing a strategy to resolve existing data challenges or conflicts and/or prevent new ones.
• Provide Subject Matter Expertise in all areas involving ERP usage and product life-cycle management.
• Providing Project Management ownership for all areas related to Master Data.
Ensure Master Data input is accurate – 25%
• Develops an understanding of business systems processes and the master data used within them.
• Standardizes data formats & naming conventions to allow ease of downstream report filtering.
• Develops data management toolsets and provides training.
• Oversees the maintenance of a master data dictionary and documentation.
• Leads and supervises a team of data entry resources and sometimes serves as entry resource if needed
Data Management Organization Leader – 50%
• Scopes, prioritizes, plans, and executes the Data Management strategic roadmap.
• Aligns the enterprise data management strategy with industry trends and legal/regulatory requirements.
• Identifies, prioritizes, and resolves Master Data challenges. Includes leading any data related change project to meet a business requirement.
• Organizes and leads Data Management Organization meetings with the business Data Managers and IT resources.
• Partners with IT to develop master data policies & controls and enforces them.
• Oversees the process and use of toolsets to publish corporate data for external customer usage.
• Assists in the development of conversion and system implementation plans and the execution of those plans for data modifications/conversions.
• Participates in integration testing, conversion, and deployment activities. Helps resolve testing defects.
Master Data Governance – 25%
• Leads the oversight of data governance, quality, and KPI reporting.
• Communicates to the data oversight committee (Executive and Senior Leadership) on data compliance performance, opportunities for improvements, and issue resolution needs.
• Leads Master Data projects within NPD and eDMO and owns data maintenance and the issue resolution process.
• Serves as Master Data Liaison with IS
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience.
• 6-8 years of experience managing master data, with understanding of its impact on business systems.
• 4-5 years of experience working with senior leadership and management teams.
• Strong knowledge of ERP systems and data architecture; experience with SAP is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to influence decision-making across teams.
• Experience leading projects related to data management and process improvements.
• Consumer-Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience is preferred.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex data-related issues to non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio) and Power BI/Analytics preferred.
